Curriculum :
Life itself is our curriculum. Our curriculum focuses on holistic development liftoff the learner in
academic and co-curricular areas. It provides opportunities for developing skills, values, and
attitudes in the classroom and outside the classroom. The school follows the C.B.S.E. curriculum.
The teaching-learning practices are oriented towards self-learning, learning at one'S pace,
ability, and interest level. It is based on concepts and not the gross content. It is child friendly,
value-driven, and related to real life. The curriculum is a broad canvas on which the child
creates an image of himself/herself as he/she desires.
The scholastic subiects are covered in the morning session and the afternoon is devoted to
a preparatory period where homework guidance is given. The activity period refers to
several options-such as Art and Craft, Theatre, Music, and Yoga. The Classes also have
a Life Skills curriculum aimed at developing critical thinking, attitudes, and holistic personality.
Student Mentoring :
A teacher mentors students on the ways of" being in school and at home. The mentor •is the
sounding board for a student mentally and emotionally. A special feature of this programme
is the home visits made by the mentor. The mentor interacts with parents to understand
their dreams for their ward and works in unison with the parents. The mentoring sessions
happen once a week in the afternoon either on Saturdays or on Wednesdays. We
create student profiles and update them constantly by involving with the mentee at all times.
The program is aimed at enhancing self-esteem, building confidence, and resilience. At
all times confidentiality is maintained.
Field Trips :
We believe that classroom learning is augmented by learning outside the classroom throuöh
Fieldtrips based on different topics and interactions with professionals to link the curriculum
with the real world.
Achiever's Meet-Pillars of Society
In an attempt to expose our students to people who have made a mark in their respective
fields and to inculcate in them values and habits that are the requisites for success. Achiever's
meets are held at least twice a term. In keeping with our vision to develop a generation of
individuals who take pride in our glorious heritage and, at the same time respect people
from diverse backgrounds, we celebrate various national and regional festivals. This also
helps our students to exhibit their talents and overcome stage fear.
Community Development Programme
A unique feature at SMN is the Community Development Programme. Through this, our
students develop various qualities of the head and heart such as empathy towards those
who are less fortunate and interdependent.
